?faulty wash wipe/turn signal combination switch

my car is a 1997 c200 .

over the last few days ,it has developed a weird electrical problem

whenever i indicate to turn right ,the windscreen wiper comes on in the intermittent mode.

this does not happen when i indicate to turn left.

it has been been very hot here in england,u.k.,

is it a faulty connection in the indicator switch ?

your commments or advice would be very much be appreciated
