which compressor???

I've found several different numbers for the proper compressor for my 89 190E 2.6 without self leveling, without locking differential. Dealer gave me this number, 102 130 0115
found this number elsewhere 0031319501
There is a compressor on ebay right now I'm interested in, but not sure it will fit my car. It just says 10P15C and that it will fit all from '85 to '93
Can anyone help? I don't want to get one and it not be right. I'm not paying $700 for one from MB, $679 from Napa, and $300-$400 from Adavance Auto Parts.

on my 1987 190E 2.3L, I put the 1992 MB 190E 2.3 A/C compressor. It works. I think that all 190E A/C compressor will fit.

if the comp on ebay you're talking about is from jensen auto, i purchased one a couple of months ago. the book called for a 10p15c but after i got it i found i needed a 10pa15c. jensen exchanged it no problem. i had to pay the shipping though, but still a lot cheaper than i could find elsewhere. i dealt with brian lowe @ briansales@greatlakes.net. he was very helpful. ph# is 1-888-392-0333 .

ebay

there are two on ebay right now...one from aj's autoparts.com and the other is from a9star9a. The latter has 100% positive feedback. I guess I'll just have to crawl up under Sadie tomorrow and try to find that id tag that will tell me if it's a 10p15c or a 10pa15c. I hope I can find it under all the grunge that built up over the years.

I've asked others this same question, but want more opinions...
is it all that difficult to change the compressor myself? I think that if I am able to completely remove and replace the fuel injection pump and intake manifold on my 86 diesel chevy as difficult as it was, then I should be able to do this. Any helpful tidbits anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I have everything but the compressor and plan to get that today, the ac flush is ordered, switches and expansion valve arrived today, checked and compressor is 10p15c according to label. Looks like a tight squeeze up in there. Are the hoses fastened to the engine with a bolt above the compressor? I can't really see, but it looks like it.
thanks for the help

not too bad of a job. nice to do on a lift if available. has to be done from underneath.

you'll need 8mm, 13mm sockets, poss a 10 also. a 6mm hex socket (easier to use than a wrench).

remove or loosen serp belt, raise car, remove bottom splash shield. remove driver's side splash shield, unplug compressor harness at clutch, remove 6mm hex bolt which holds a/c hose manifold to compressor, remove compressor bolts (4 13mm i think), compressor should drop down and out with a little maneuvering. i think on a lift in and out took about an hour. i may have forgotten a step or two. invest in the hex socket, it's worth it. many other things on the car use it also.

good luck

Thanks a bunch. I have 2 sets of hex bits left from a diesel Rabbit rebuild 10 years ago, a complete metric wrench set. It didn't look too bad from the bottom, but wanted more advice from some who've done it already,.
Thanks
