Where oxygen sensor located? 89 300E
89 300E
Check Engine light came on the other day, now the car idles extremely rough, and not too responsive when the gas pedal is pressed. i wanted to try changing the oxygen sensor but not sure exactly where its located. also any advice on changing it would be appreciated! |
Used to own an 89 300E. Look along your exhaust system underneath the car and you will see the oxygen sensor. I believe it is close to the catalytic converter. The wires run inside the car on the passenger side. Remove the carpet on the front passenger side and you will see where the oxygen sensor plugs in. You can order the sensor from any good aftermarket supplier for about $100-125, I believe.

Or use the Bosch sensor for the 1990 Ford Mustang GT (p/n 13942, I believe). Just need one, about $50. You'll need to solder the new sensor to your old wiring harness (colors match).
