Ebay Merc - Suspicious

Ebay Merc Suspicious... How do you report this to them? My account was recently victim to "phishing" also. Tried to get a link to report suspect activity but could not find one.

Good luck getting Ebay to help with resolving any such issue.

The concept of buying "blind" is a natural magnet for thieves and the people who operate Ebay have no interest in dealing with it.

I've been down this road with them and will never go down it again.

The easiest way to avoid getting screwed on Ebay is to simply avoid Ebay altogether.

I beg to differ

I beg to differ. Ebay on the contrary is on the up and up on such fraud. In my case it was resolved very quickly. Ebay in my opinion rocks!!! But I guess this discussion should go to the open forum now.

I've been scammed twice...buy surly vendors...of Ebays credit however they never got to crew another...even if I had to resort to my credit card for resolution....so my experience with Ebay is mixed.

What was the seller on Ebay trying to peddle?

lee polowczuk 07-21-2005 02:04 PM

the only thing weird about that post was that the seller had great feedback...strange...

could have been a wrecked car...but most likely a scam.

Theurig 07-21-2005 04:08 PM

stolen identity

The seller was peddling a 2003 E500 for a buy it now price of 12K!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason why the seller had good feedback was because his identity was stolen. Some "MOHINE" sent the original owner of the username an e-mail posing to be ebay, he (the original owner of the username) fell into the trap put in all his information, including his password. The "MOHINE" in turn logged into the sellers account and listed a fake 2003 e-class ... Somehow ebay is able to detect fake or scam listings so they removed it immediately. I fell victim to this a few days ago.
.
But just for the record if anyone is selling a 2003 E500 for $12K, I'll pay u 12k to get me a super low miles 560sel instead.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
