I know there is a lot of posts covering auto trans fluid but I have heard not to use anything but MB fluid, and I have heard many using dexron II or III. this shifts great and only has 123000 miles on it and don't want to screw up anything. What do I use in this year car safely for topping off, or filter service and fluid change? It also leaks some fluid out the rear tail seal it seams, would anyone recomend a fluid additive for conditioning and possibly slowing a leak? Thanks for your time! Euromaine

Your owner's manual probably says Dexron III. That's fine. As for any additive to stop a leak, no additives will ever find their way into my transmission, but that's just my and Mercedes' opinion. Others don't feel the same way. You use only the MB fluid in the later sealed for life transmissions, but not yours.
