Convertible Top

Code reading .........can someone please tell me what needs to be done to reset the codes to get a convertible top down on a 1991 300sl , whats the process of code reading and reseting codes ??
I took it to a mercedes guy months ago , he got the top to go down by reseting the codes , but it didn't last long , now it need to put it down just to get my hardtop on it .............. Thanks

You should have a 16 pin diagnostic conector in the rear passenger side of your engine compartment. You need to build a code reader from parts from Radio Shack, pull the codes and post them here. Do a search above for building a code reader. There are many, many threads on the subject.
