you should have the latch its a thin wire on the right side of the back seat on the little gap where you see a puncha wirez. My trunk didnt work i pulled it and it open the trunk and i have a 1980 500SE w126! so yours is an 85 so you should have it !!
The thing is with my trunk--battery died and since then i have not been able to open the trunk--even after i replaced the battery...any tips guys ? lol btw im shocked a female with a w126 on a car forum lol woooow |
According to my WIS, from version 9/84 and USA 85, the little release cable behind the rear seat was omitted due to the central locking system.

If the W126 is the same as the W123 trunk-wise, then it should have a lock feature. Only the master key will open this. If it has an alarm, it has to be disabled first.
The cord should be able to open the trunk. If that's not possible, it's the trunk lock mechanism. Time to isolate this first before cutting any holes! What did your boyfriend do?? |
