190E factory alarm??
I have a 1986 190E and today after I got home from work, my neighbor informed me that the cars alarm had been going off all day, I have not had the car for very long, and was not aware that it even had an alarm. Is there anyway to trouble shoot the alarm? would there be any consequences if it's disabled (like the central locking system?) Thanks.

Yup. Some 190's had factory alarms. If you remove the system or disable it, I dont think there should be any issues with the locking system.

One more alarm question
another user indicated that the alarm brain is located behind the glove box liner, I wonder if someone can just verify what I am looking at. After I removed the liner, and to the right just behind and below the vent is what looks to be a small module with two plugs and a vacume line going into it, if this is it do all or one of the plugs need unhooked? Thanks, this site is awsome!!

well, I don't think that's where you want to look. I disabled mine for the same reason. go to your passenger side; open door; get on your knees; pull up floor mat; then pull out your carpet; it will come out in one piece. you'll see a plastic panel; remove this with one screw. you should see the alarm box there; it's the big one the other is SRS airbag if you have one. There are two large sized plugs going into the box with a lot of wires on both of them. Pull both of them out of their sockets and you're done.

Thanks, I am not sure what it was I was looking at but I am glad I did not screw with it! Thanks again.
