Cruise control
Yep My ccu doesn't work on my 86 300e.
Could someone direct me on what to start with? I am new new MB and have no manual but plenty capable. Is there a repair manual for the diys-er? Appreciate it. |

The first thing I would check are all your brake lights. It sounds funny but a burned out brake light can cause the CC to not function. If these all check out, then the most likely culprit is the CC unit "brain" solder joints. Check out this website:

Thats great.
I will have some with this. Sucking solder smoke on the weekend is always fun. Can I still drive the car with the ccu brain out? |

All good suggestions, but the FIRST check is Fuse #5, 8 amp.. and even if it looks good , give it a twist ..
Best to check w/test lamp on both sides of fuse... I see guys go right for the CC module and later find a simple fuse problem.. Start there... |
