Trying to figure out why one plug is carboned while the other 7 are a light gray to white. I have replaced the plugs and the cap and rotor. I would appreciate any insight into this problem. I am sure that the cylinder is missing at idle and that is causing the rough idle!

This is usually the most clear indicator of a worn valve guide or blown off guide seal. I would have it checked, but beware, it could need a very expensive valve job.
