Please dont laugh. I love my 83 240D and spent a lot of time rebuilding the engine.Starts like a watch on 10 degree days. Dont drive fast anyway--I'm 41 However my 1 hr commute is killing me. I have to carpool. As a two passenger car, or one adult and several kids car, its fine. Will 4 200 pounders wear the car out? Will performance be okay? Some of the driving is stop and go, which is what I'm worried about.

It'll do fine!! 'Just take a little longer "getting up to speed".

Carrameow,
You should have a look at what my neighboring Germans fit in their cars... The average German family exists out of several beer-bellied members; put that family in one car and let them drive that car on the "autobahn". The 240D will do fine and will only need a few additional seconds to get at speed... greetingz,
