I think it's the idle control unit...
I have a 1981 380 SEL
Just got the A/C serviced (never used it before) when I turn it on everything is ok until I put it in Drive, engine shuts off automatically. Also if I put the car in gear (no A/C on) and turn the steering wheel all the way right/left, also shuts off.. what is wrong? I have changed: distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs &wires, ignition coil.. 2 fuel injectors, (#1&2 cylinders), fuel filter, changed engine oil, engine shocks & engine mounts... Belts look tightened... engine also shakes in gear at low rmp, neutral & park OK.. All help appreciated!!!! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1722657 |

Have a good tech check it out before you throw any more $$$ and parts at it. Best Regards, Jim |

I was analyzing the idle speed control and I turn on the vehicle and the rough idle is there.... when I remove the plug from the idle control unit, it still idles the same.. no change...
is there supposed to be a worse change? I only hear sometype of vacuum on the a/c turn on/off when connecting/disconnecting the module... I am thinking of replacing this b-4 I turn it into someone that's gonna charge me $1500 for a $200 fix. thanks in advance to all!
