Well, I always have since i owned my first one in 86. still have it. I accepted average cooling but not poor; and now I want more.
The ford scorpio has had the same problems as the mbz and they've done something about it. They use a txv system like ours too. Their main philosophy(and it's been mine the last year) is "this car is overprotected" so that ford/mbz will sacrifice a little owner comfort for the reputation of a car that "never breaks down". They are bypassing the evap temp sensor and giving a constant false signal. And they are freezing cold; just like the new asain cars do us today. Remember, this is a ford with a tvx and it was just average, not bad, but not what is considered par for today. Check out the site. I'm investigating superheat values and working to increase my evaporator efficiency. I know in my gut that there is room to improve and our system can operate better. I'm not talking about 49 degrees; lets get serious; we're talking about new car air- today's standards.

MB just isn't strong in the climate control department. Amercan cars will put a MB to shame any day of the week on a 100+ degree day.

MB also seems to make troublesome climate control units, it seems like every year something breaks. Keeping the AC going so far is costing me about $200 a year on my car.

But ehh everything has it's problems, what can you do thats life.
