shock and strut replacement

i'm going to be replacing my shocks and struts with bilstein h.d.'s.

a friend will be helping me, he is very mechanically inclined, can anyone make a educated guess on how long it might take to complete this?

also wanting to verify, i will not need an alignment since i'm only changing shocks, right?
