I agree with autozen. The autoparts business has gane the way of Wally world, cheap offshore parts that don't last. Sure they offer a lifetime warranty, so what? You get what you pay for. Parts sold by any of the McParts are very poor quality. I would disagree about NAPA. The problem is that NAPA is great for vehicles/equipment made in the U.S.A. not European imports. NAPA just reboxes parts for imports. These can solmetimes be poor quality as well. All hydraulic brake parts have a finite shelf life. The mc from McParts could be several years old. I would try to find a new ATE brand master. There is no experience like stepping on the brakes and having the pedal go to the floor. A W115 250 has a common Mercedes mc, shouldn't be too hard to find. The dealer may surprise you. The price for a new MB master cyl may not be much higher than a reman from autozone.

Good luck, bro.

Thank you guys for all of your help! Unfortunatly both the calliper I bought and thye MC was from a "McParts." Shure enough when I got the caliper it was broken and they had to order me another one. lol After working on the brakes for a month and never having this much truoble in all my life, I finally decided to take the car into the shop and let them take care of it. I appreciate all the advice everyone has given me, and next time I will strongly consider getting parts from Mercedes. I just assumed, since the "McParts" caliper also an Ate, it wouldn't be any different than an Ate caliper from Mercedes. Just like the old saying, we all know what happens when you assume...... lol
Thanks Again!!

Make sure you have the bleed valve on top -- if you get a left caliper on the right side, (or vice versa), it is impossible to get the air out!

Bad brake line will do the same thing.

Make sure you have the reservior FULL....

I vacuum bleed brakes these days with my MitiVac -- works like a charm every time.

Farmer,
It would take millions of dollars to build a plant to make calipers so nobody does it. Ate has already made the investment, so they are in the driver's seat to sell you a new one. New ones are so expensive that rebuilders get cores and rebuild them for less money than new. What cores are places like McThrifty or whatever that place is called going to use? Why Ate of course.

The brakes on that car are so simple that you don't need to buy any special bleeders. Just open the bleed screws and let em drip. Make sure you keep the reservoir full and like Peter said, make sure the bleed screws are on top.

Good luck,
Peter
