88 300E - Tail Light Relay?
I need to find, diagnose and possibly repair or replace the relay which controls the passenger side tail lights and side marker.
Where is it? What is the part number? Are there posted instructions for testing and repairing? Thanks, - CarlD trimagna@yahoo.com |
what indication have you that the relay is bad? there is a thread from not too far back where a couple of us had that fuse (#3?) blowing repeatedly, and both of us found a short elsewhere on the circuit. mine was in the headlamp cleaning unit, which i disconnected, the other guy found his problem behind the radio, perhaps it was in the illumination wire going to ground? i don't remember. start pulling things that are listed on the inside of the fusebox if this sounds like your problem. it could save you a lot of trouble trying to find a new relay.

Diagnosing tail lights problem.
On the passenger side rear, there are two tail lights. The rearmost is fine. The one curved around the corner is not getting power.
The fuses test good and the bulb tests good. Although there might be a frayed wire or corroded connection, I would like to determine that there is power at the relay, if I ever find the relay. |
i dont
think there is a relay for tail lights, only head lights.
