How to lock the trunk for valet parking

95 S420

Is there a way to lock the trunk for valet parking?

If I lock the trunk with the key, it locks up the door of the car, so the valet cannot get into the car. that's no good for the valet. If I don't lock the car, than the trunk can be opened with the button on the dashboard.

I heard from somebody that there might be a button somewhere like in the glove compartment to lock the trunk.

thanks a lot

valet key

On some models m/b there is an available Valet key that runs the ignition and door and NOT the trunk. good luck, Abe G Ask dealer or locksmith that works on cars.

On the E class (86-95), there's a round-head valet key besides the rectangular-head master key.

One locks the trunk with the master key (at the trunk key-hole), turning the key all the way to the right then retrieve the key in that position (or the key comes out 'horizontally'). The trunk is now locked that can only be opened with the master key. In other words, the valet key can only open the doors and work with the ignition, but it cannot unlock the trunk.

Not sure if that's the same way your S420 is set up though !

thanks everyone for answers but it did not work so well.

I tried this for few weeks:
lock the trunk with the master-key (big key)
and then open the door with the vallet key (small key).

the vallet can open only the door, not the trunk and not the glove-compartment. once I open the door, I push the button to pop the trunk and voila-the trunk is open.

so how can I secure the trunk so that only a person with the master key can open the trunk?

Is there a hidden lock of the trunk somewhere?

thanks
