Can anyone offer any help?
When my 560sl is cold, usually in the mornings, there is a whining in the engine when i put the car in drive. It usually goes away as the car warms up. I orginally thought it was something in the steering..but have since noticed the whining(it isn't really loud whining but I can tell that it isn't normal)when I accelerate the car.
Any Ideas?

I had a similar problem with my 84 380SL.. It turned out to be the smog pump which only comes on when you start the car and after it warms up shuts off. There is a distinctive click when the pump shuts off so you might want to see the the whine goes with it.
