hey everybody, im new here!

hey ppl, just thought i would tell you all i am new to the forum and would like to say hi! i have actually been dormant for a while here now just reading lots of threads and using the search function alot. i bought my w124 about two months ago now and have utilized this website alot to help me with heaps of mods and repairs. so far i have got new crystal headlights and rearlights, new s600 look grille and just got 17x8 chromies put on with 215 lo pros. looks heaps better than the old stock. lots more to go though! my car is the 89' model 230e. i live in hong kong at the moment handling a business here and can source lots of mods very cheap. well compared to ebay (US) anyway! so if anyone needs any prices for anything at all PM me. anyways thats enough about me.

p.s. thanks for craploads worth of previous posts everybody... info helped me alot on replacing spark plugs, aux fan, suspension, bushings and a host of other stuff that needed to be done. hope i can help out too...

Welcome to MercedesShop...and get some sleep!

I see from your post that the time zone is the issue!

I just shod my W124 with chrome ICE88 17x8 rims and 215-45-17 rubber. I agree, the profile is much nicer, and the ride doesn't seem too harsh either...

yeah not too harsh... it did seem a little bit more bumpy over small bumps in the road (a small bump on hong kong roads is like a landmine though) but nothing too severe. i think i was just used to the 15 inch stockers feelin like driving an armchair. the handling is so much tighter and more responsive now though, which i am very pleased with...and of course ya cant beat the look. is your car lowered?

Nope. Right now, I don't have rubbing issues and I don't care to introduce that issue. My suspension is original (re: sloppy) and needs to be firmed up.

Now if I got a Wald kit, I would change my mind...

Welcome to forum.
This forum is great! I love it a lot. You will too. MBs are tricky automobiles. With help of this forum I understood a lot of things about them. Also there is great source for electrical diagrams and how to remove and reinstall many parts ( http://mb.braingears.com/ ). Save that link for future references. Good luck with your car.
