Mercedes Diesel Fan clutch removal
Having trouble removing the fan clutch in my 1987 Mercedes 300 SDL.
Is there a special trick or special tool? |

Sometimes it's easier to loosen that hex bolt before you remove serp belt tension. |

also allen head blots to remove
Ike,
I forget the order now, but if remember there is one hex head bolt. That may take the fan off the clutch. Then there are 3 hex head bolts to remove the clutch from the shaft that it rotates on. It takes a very stubby allen socket ( there is a MB part for this socket) or possibly a regular allen wrench might work. It is fairly small, like about 6, 7, or 8 I think. Chuck |
