part number questions
I'm trying to determine what role a specific part plays. I have a 1983 300D Turbo. The part in question is located on the firewall, drivers side, behind the brake booster, left ( looking at the firewall) of the fuse block. This apears to have vacuum ports at the top and front, two wires coming from the bottom and is approximately two inches tall and 3/4" in diameter. There are two sets of numbers - 0085450828 and VV-6E777AN.
On my car, the vacuum port on the front is not connected to anything as if it has been bypassed. What is the intended use and why would it be bypassed? If I need to reconnect this to restore performance chacteristics, what do I connect it to? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks! DY |
That should be the OVER-boost switch-over valve that shuts boost OFF to the injection pump if the waste gate fails & then there is an over-boost condition!

Why would this be disconnected?
Why would this be disconnected? Is there supposed to be a tee connection in the line between the turbo and the injection pump connecting this switch? Also, would this be the line where I can add a tee to determine boost pressure?
Thanks for your help DY |
