Preferred place to order parts from?
Hoping to find one w/Knowldegeable sales guys who can help anticipate all the pieces your job will need in advance.
Is there much discounting out there on oem parts? |
Well the obvious answer is to buy from this site, from Phil. Just click on FastLane or Buy Parts. Then call him or send an e-mail or you can also buy on-line.

I would also look into performance products. they are sometimes a lot cheaper than fastlane.

Although Performance Products may be cheaper(?) sometimes, I hope that you call Phil at Fastlane. He will help you to gather what you need for the job. Furthermore, I believe Fastlane helps sponsor this site which is so very helpful to all who use it.

I have called Phil at FastLane, told him what I am doing for a repair/project, state what I want for parts and then ask if there is anything else I may need for the job. He has guided me with parts I hadn't thought of. Recent example was the IP fuel delivery seals. He suggested I replace the fuel line retainers since they typically broke. :bulb: That would have been me if he had not offered a suggestion. Most of them did break and I replaced them with those he sent. My point . . . I feel I can help in some small way to support the sponsor of the best MB forum. FastLane will get my business.

Even though Performance Products may occasionally be cheaper, they don't offer the kind of service Phil does. Also, I have gotten some pretty shoddy parts from Performance Products ie: an oil cap that the tabs broke off when removing it. I had to pull the head to get the metal pieces out.
PP is in California and their shipping is much higher and takes two to three times longer to receive parts. Phil has never steered me wrong! |
MercedesShop runs this site -- and they sell parts at VERY competitive prices. Their service (provided by Phil) is the best in the business... hands down!
MercedesShop isn't like Public Broadcasting... they don't come on the forum periodically and ask you to send them a donation. They operate the forum with the proceeds from people like us buying parts from them. Support the people who support your community. In this case, our "community" is this forum. Most of us would be dead in the water without it. If you don't support this resource, it might not be here the next time you need it. So do the right thing, and give Phil a call. He is an incredible resource. Jeff Pierce |
