rear brake pad sensors on a 91 300e?
am i right in asuming that i do not have rear brake pad sensors because i do not have asr?
thanks in advance |
yes ...
|
Yes - MB did not put sensors on the rear. Not having ASR would have little or nothing to do with that. Pads wear irrespective of ASR.
It was likely more of a philosophical decision - fronts wear faster - tell 'um about the front. I always thought it was shabby on MBs part not to have included them on the rear as well. |
The 1991 & 92 300E's did have ASR option(winter package) & YES they did have a rear sensor! Also they did have a different part number for the rear pads!

Yes! they should

That's funny because I always thought on the 260E and 190E all 4 wheels had those sensors. It was only till the last time the car went to the shop and I got a call saying the rear pads are almost worn down but the front ones are fine.
I had never checked the rears thinking the pad light is not on hence no problem... |
My 92 S class had them on all four wheels, but my SL only has them on 3 wheels. oh well.
