1992 300E m103 won't start

Hey Guys,

Haven't been driving my mb this summer, been using my van to pull my boat. Have started it a few times over the summer without trouble and last weekend, started up fine, moved it, washed it, ran it for a good 20 mins, then waxed it,and parked it in a spot.

Wanted to move it this morning and it cranks fine but not even a hint of a firing of a spark for any cyl. Rained alot this week. Could this be ovp? Or the fuse related to that? Just guessing. Can you do the usual carcheck to pull coil wire and check for spark or is it diff on mb's?

Thanks, Jeff

OVP would be a good place to start, since they're so flaky.

Did you get water into a sensitive area (somewhere under the hood)?

I don't think I got water into the motor area.

The ovp is near the battery? How do you check it?

Thanks, Jeff

First check the fuse in the OVP. If it's fried, problem solved (hopefully :)) Otherwise you will have to test the contacts in the relay. Unless someone beats me to it, I will look through the service manual tonight and give you some more answers.

just for the heck of it check your cap and rotor. when they get worn the get touchy. next time you have a no start issue please find out if its fuel or spark related. might also want to pull your fuel pump relay out and see if you got any cracked solder joints. use a magnifieng glass. solder them if you see cracks.
