1989 300TE driveability

Hi,
My most accurate desrciption of the driveability of this nice wagon is as follows: First of all if you're just sitting in park on a level surface, put the gear in reverse, I need to push the gas pedal a bit more than usual to get the car going. It'll go, but seems to need a little help from me to get what I think is a normal roll back. Once I'm on the rode and in Drive now, seems to need a little more than normal of a push on the gas to get the car going normal. Almost as if the car needs to kick into another gear, but won't. Again, seems to need a constant strong foot on the gas in order to get the car to maintain it's speed. Take your foot off the pedal and it seems to slow down quicker than what I believe is normal. Just looking for an expert opinion of what this could be. I recently got a transmission flush.

Thank youy for any feedback
