OVP on a 91 300e?

I have had starting problems with my 91 300e. i replaced spark plugs(were bosh platinums) with correct spark plugs and adjusted eha, for the most part solved my problem. i looked at my ovp and it only has one fuse and there is no place for a second fuse? i thought there were supposed to be 2 fuses in it. is this a problem?

P.S. could a bad fuel pump/ filter cause slugish acceleration?

thanks in advance

That makes it an old one. Replacements have two.

are new ones better?

should i go ahead and get a new one with two fuses? are they any better than the originals?

thanks

Masonn,

What kind of problems are you having? When is the car sluggish? Mine takes a while to fire when I'm cranking, and is sluggish when accelerating from a stop. If the car has any momentum, it's fine (with acceleration). I've replaced: Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Fuel Injectors, Fuel filter, and next on my list is the OVP relay as I've heard that can cause similar symptoms as well. I've found one at about half the cost of the local dealer from an online shop. (not sure if the rules permit me to post the name of the website.)

Anyway, I know I'm not answering your questions, my reason for responding to your post is that there seem to be many others who describe similar symptoms, and each time, the response seems to be different. i.e.: replace the coil, try the brushes on the regulator, OVP comes up a lot. My OVP relay won't be here until Monday, so I'll know then if that fixes my symptoms. I'm curious if your car's symptoms are the same as mine, and if so, what fixes it. I haven't heard anyone say if one type of relay is better than another (new vs. old)...I'll keep you posted.

i am having similar problems like you. i have replaced: spark plugs, rotor, and an ajusted eha. all seem to have solved my problem of starting some what but occationally, esspecially when it is warm outside i have a long cranking period and even then it will stumble and sometimes shut off. it was cold this morning and it started better than it ever had. i intend to replace the fuse first to see if it solves the problem. the old fuse looks like it has a small crack in it, unsure. i have noticed also that my slugshness could be one of two things, bad fuel filter and pump, or the transmission since the trans is from an 88 300e(long story ;) ) i'll keep you posted on my progress.

forgot.

the car is slugish sometimes during take offs and below 40mph.

There's a recent post reporting the same problem: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=134802
It just seems weird that there is not a difinitive answer to this problem that so many people are having, or that so many different things could cause the same symptoms...very frusterating!!! Let me know how the fuse replacement goes.

replaced fuse

i replaced the fuse today :D . turns out the old one was cracked :( my warm start ups are somewhat better. next i intend to replace the injectors, fuel pump/filter, and hoses. this should help solve my idle problem.

thanks for all of your alls advice.
