w126 300SE exhaust leak
I've got a 1990 300SE, and it developed a slight exhaust leak a few months ago. I thought it was the manifold gaskets, but when I was replacing them, I realized where the leak actually was...
Looks like I'm going to have to drop the exhaust from the manifold until whever it bolts up to (i think there is a flange after the cat) and get it welded or something. Or does it look fixable still on the car? |

How many miles on the car? Looks like new exhaust time.

Looks like you'd better check the exhaust bracket that attaches at the rear of the trans. Look for oil leaks onto the rubber bushings and the metal 'W' shaped clamp as well.
Check your rubber mounts on the two rear mufflers as well. That's a stress fracture/break.

If you get new mufflers, make sure the middle resonator is the correct one. The one I got was short by an inch and it's front pipes were formed differently. The resonator wouldn't match up to the pipes from the cat.
