2002 M111 oil capacity
 

At the last 3 free services, the dealer added 7, 6 and 6 quarts of oil and replaced the filter. The manual calls for 7.5 qts. I have checked the dipstick and it shows full and the electronic display says "oil level ok". I plan to change my own oil now and want to know the correct capacity.

The M111.981 engine should take 7.0 qts on an oil change!

My mistake. I checked the manual last night and it calls for 7.4 qts or 7.0 liters. I still am not sure of the capacity .

I'm sure M.B. Doc would know. ;)
Why don't you pour in 7 quarts, run the engine for a few seconds, let it sit for a minute or two, and then check your oil level with the dipstick ?

Oops...not sure if a 2002 even has a dipstick. :o

I trust his advice, but only after he hit 5000 posts...

This all depends on the oil level in the tech' daily ride :rolleyes:
