Hi Techs,

I have a 1999 C230 kompressor and I'm trying to replace my (FPR) fuel pressure regulator. I hear it is very easy to replace. However, the only problem is that I have no idea where it is Can somebody please help me locate this FPR? Thanks in advance!

Open the hood.
Stand in front of the car.
Look to the right of the valve cover, about 8" toward the front from the firewall.
It's a little ( 2" ) metal canister.

Wow! that was fast...Thanx Manni I just love this site....so helpful....I could of sworn I've looked there...I saw two objects that looked like it but wasn't sure....there was one near the back (firewall) and one that looked like it near the oil cap but it was inside of another object so I didn't think that was it.....Anyhow, I'll try to replace it this wknd...have a good one buddy

Why are you replacing the FPR ?

Oh...I had a check engine light on....Scanned it...code was P0170....fuel malfuction (bank 1)....anyhow, looked it up in this forum and found out that this particular model have a sensitive (AMM)....I also read that it can be the FPR....I've replaced the (air filter & AMM) and wanted to replace the FPR but having a hard time.... I hooked it up again to the scanner and *PASSED*...Everything is good but I have this FPR laying around so I want to replace it. However, I'm still having a problem with it. I've upload some pictures taken...there seem to be some bolt on the bottom and a small rubber hose attached to the top....looking at it, I have no idea how to replace this part since it's in a metal object.....If you know how to replace this..can you walk me through it?

Look at your new one to see the size of it. Remove the spring clip and pull the regulator out and push the new one in. its that easy.

Remove the spring clip? where's that?...All I can see is that it's in this metal piece that's holding it and...that's about...it's tight as hell. People says it's easy to do but I don't even know where to start. Just from looking at the pictures I've uploaded, can you walk me through it....I have a feeling that it's really easy but... anyhow, once I change it and finds out how easy it really is..I'll kick myself.... but at this point...I have no idea....

in that picture see the two small tabs with holes in the middle of them. use snap ring pliers, remove the ring and pull the regulator out.

those little round things are hard as a rock and does not want to budge what so ever...It doesn't look like it was made to be removed (attached) or bend...Have you ever replaced an FPR on a W202 before...I've realized all thread I've read that people claimed it's so easy to do is for the older brother...the "S" or "E" and for an older model as well.... Anyhow, I really do appreciate you time and help.

You need what is called " snap-ring pliers ".
If your old FPR is working, I would'nt screw with it.

Haha...I guess that works for me also. I guess I'll replace them when the time is right....So I'll need a snap-ring pliers as what Johnhef had mentioned. Well, thank you both for your help! It just makes owning a benz that much better

I have a 1999c230kompressor...shows a large leak in the evaporative system....I cancelled the code ...to start fresh ......The low fuel lite will start Flashing....minutes later the Check engine lite comes on, as the Low fuel lite continues to flash....................any Ideas Anyone?................ car runs fine & passed Emissions tailpipe test ..................................Smoke test next ? ......thx

1999 C230 .....Backup lite switch is off A bit ....backup lites will go on Etc;; but I have to hold the shifter upwards... needs to be in sink....or adiusted can anyone tell me how to do this..... thx all.....
