Curing high idle, some tips please.
560sl, idling about about 2500 rpms too high. What are some things to check?
Thanks. JB |

You ain't bangin' the ICV hard enough !
These beast burn up the idle control valve armatures and then melt down the controller module as it tries to drive the valve harder.. Try tapping on the idle valve and see if speed changes. If it does, it might just be sticking....although I doubt it. .

Ya gotta be a little more transparent than that?
The idle control valve, now where is that again?
Sorry, I'm a high-handicap wrencher. Thanks. JB |

ok, I found it.
Tapping did no good but the idle did increase significantly when I disconnected the power to it. I guess I'll pull it off and try to clean it, maybe I'll get lucky.
