Windows frozen in 87 300e

Is there any combination of events that would cause the front passenger window and the left rear window to both be stuck closed?

I've replaced the switches.

The other two windows work fine.

I can't find anything that leads me to know whether this is one problem, or two (motors most likely?)

thanks!

there

is a second fuse that works for the windows on a diagonal from each other. i am not sure where it is. i have a vague notion that it is somewhere in the consol area. my indie has fixed it for me.

If it is the fuse, it would be fuse H which is supposed to be 16 amp. Fuse H is right front and left rear. Post back if this does not fix the problem. FIY the other fuse is G. Both are in the regular fuse box so don't start looking elsewhere. The old advice still applies . . . don't assume the fuse is okay by looking at it.

Okay, the other "frozen motor" issue I have encountered is that the motor and regulator become bound tight in either fully closed or open positions. This too can be overcome w/o spending great (if any) amounts of money. Let us know how it goes.

Fuse H keeps blowing

Replaced the fuse, tried each window, and regardless of which window I try, the fuse blows again.

I assume this means there's a short. Any time-saving tips on where the most likely source is?

Currently I'm guessing in the wiring between the frame and door themselves, but haven't had time to check that out.

Steve, also regarding an 87 300e front right (passenger) window frozen in the up position and all fuses good, could you explain what to do next? I have a replacement unit (regulator and motor), and I was considering trying to unbolt the frozen motor and attach the good motor without removing the entire assembly from the door. Is this feasible? Thanks.
