Massage Seats in 95 E320??

Does anyone know if the 95 E320 Wagon had massage seats as an option? I just bought a this wagon from FL and the previous owner knew nothing about the seat. There is a control device between the seat and the console with various seep options. It's not currently working and I'm asking if anyone is familar with this option. Thanks, edge.

Aren't those switches lumbar supports?

Massage seats?? In those days Mercedes were real cars made by real Germans.

I think you mean orthopedic seats? If so, there're 3 push bottons mapping to different areas of the seat back to be inflated, and the turn dial with numbers controls the extent. (BTW, if you don't have the owner's manual, maybe try calling MB USA for a copy.)

I'm looking for one of those for my '94 wagon, driver's side. See if you can find a part number on them please!

Exactly! I'll have to play with them to see if they work. I just noticed that I have heated seats, great for winter up here in the NE.

That's great! I forgot to mention another wider button -- it is for controlling the side bolster (sp?), how close they wrap around your back.

Where are the instructions?

Does anyone have the instructions for these seats? There are just graphic buttons which are a little bit hard to interpret. Then there's a wide black button on the control..?

edge,

It is actually not too bad... let me give it another try

1. The 3 squarish buttons are for you to select which sections of the seat back that you want lumbar support: button closest to the dash is for bottom section, button closet to the trunk is for top section. You can press one of these buttons, or up to two simultaneously (bottom + mid, or mid + top).

2. The turn dial is for you to specify the amount of support to be applied at the selected sections in step 1. 0 = min, 5 = max.

3. The wide button is for side bolster support. Push it forward to increase side support, backward to decrease. This works independently of steps 1 & 2.

Thanks, Impala...now I get it.

edge, once you have time to try out different settings, i'm sure you'll find the seat a great feature... i sure enjoy mine ! :)

dtf, just spotted your question on parts number... sorry, no idea. all i can think of is that it may involve several parts, like the seat itself (embedded air 'pouches'?), the control switches, and the air pump (or plumbing to tap into an existing one?). maybe you can try FastLane, or call up a dealer? good luck.
