420 SEL can I use a 560 Engine?

Hi guys.
love reading your advice and posts.
just recently bought a 1986 420 SEL at an auction.
me need an engine. or alot of work according to the mechanic.
he thinks cheaper to get engine.

i saw a few on ebay for cheap...but kinda far away.
i was wondering if i can put a 560 SEL engine in me baby?
will the computer work?
there is a 560 for sale here in l.a.

any wisdom here would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

pinkfloyd.

i dont know

for sure but i would bet the answer is yes. best bet to buy a complete car same year as yours with cosmetic issues and have all parts to swap over.

Thanks found one in my area. 1989 420 SEL. Are there any issues I should be aware of? Transmission fits ? Computer compatiblity?

if you

are buying the entire car and it runs well, you should be able to just start swithing things til you have it all done. anything that is different related to the motor just switch over. the body shells should be identical.

since

they are several years apart i would be cautious. i would check with someone who knows something for sure. the interchange guy at the salvage yard should know the answer.

OK.

Then the 560 SEL will be compatible with the 430 SEL Computer I take it?
