1993 320 CE no 5th gear !!
 

My "new" 320 CE has a ocillating throttle behavior, just as if someone would periodically step on the gas. This is especially notorious when the transmission is on "P" or "N". RPM ocillates between 500 and 1100 rpm.

On top of that I took my recently bought car for a highway ride and... OH SURPRISE... no 5th gear engages!!!! Hmmm... otherwise the car runs quite well, but the missing gear is driving me nuts.

The "S"-"E" switch (sport - econo) also appears to be faulty.

ANY IDEAS WHERE TO START LOOKING?

its probably a four speed mate

tell us where youre from and thatll give us a clue. north america didnt get the 5 speed auto until about 97.
