1987 W124 Center Console Removal?
I'm trying to remove the center wood of an '87 300E to inspect the window switches yet I can't figure out which way it moves. I know about the rear screw yet does the panel slide forward or backward?

The whole panel swings up -- remove the screw under the carpet in the console, then carefully lift the rear edge. The panel with fader and mirror switches will lift off the plastic switch tray. The window switches stay put.

Lift at the rear, where the screw is. Front is hooked under the ashtray.
