Vacuum leak
have been having problems with my door locks, and my motor won't shut off when I take the key out of the ignition.
My father has been working on European cars since the 70's so he knows how to fix this stuff, but the only problem is He won't set aside some time to work on my car so I have to do it myself. I need to know how to find and stop a vacuum leak, I have all my fathers tools at my disposal. I'm driving a 1984 300D W123 |

Your father is a wise man.
I would suggest starting by disconnecting both yellow lines to the left (as you are facing it) of the brake booster. Plug the lines that the yellow lines hook up to. Start the car and try shutting it off and see if it shuts off. If it does then your problem is a leaking door lock system. If that does not do it then you need to get a Mighty Vac and start putting a vacuum on each line to ascertain where the leak is at.
