Hydraulic pump Reseal

I am going to reseal my hydarulic pump this weekend, and I would like to know some tips from those who have done it in the past. The car is a 91 560SEL. I undertand that I need to remove the distributor in order to remove the pump. The fan pulley will need to be loosened likewise. Per manual procedure 32-645, I expect to remove 2 radial sealing rings of which I will use a newer double-lip radial sealing ring as replacement. I am not quite sure what it takes to install the double-lip sealing ring. The procedure suggests the use of a self-made pressing-in mandrel which I do not have.

Questions:
1. Is there anything readily available that I can improvise as a pressing mandrel?
2. How much pressure is needed to press the sealing ring?
3. What is the correct orientation in pressing the double-lip sealing ring? Is it "smaller" diameter go in first? or is it the other way around? Or is it keyed, making it easy to determine the orientation?
4. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

thx
emmy
