From Celsius to Fahrenheit
How can I change the reading on my Climate Control 92 500SEL, from showing the temp as Celsius to read Fahrenheit? Thanks
|
Should be a button marked "C/F", or something like that, on the AC control panel. Each push toggles it to the other setting.

I do not have the specific answer but I know on some of the cars it cannot be done believe it or not.

multiply by 9, divide by 5, then add 32.
Or multiply by 2 and add 32 to get close. Mark |
On the W201, I have opened up a couple of LCD displays to locate the controller chip . . . then tracked down the "photofacts" for the chip . . . and found that there was no jumper for switching from Centigrade to Farenheit. :( Later model North American W201 and W124 came with the Farenheit LCD's.

I guess Mercedes are the only people who believed the US was really "going metric"!! If it was me, all I need to know is 19=66, 20=68, 21=70, 22=71.5
I would probably just cut that out tape it to the dash. Mike |

I bought a Farenheit unit on Ebay that would work on my W126. Some units are four pinned. And others are three pinned. Check which one yours is then look for same online. I removed the instrument cluster. Unscrewed the Celcius unit from the back of the cluster. Dropped the Farenheit unit in. Replaced the connections. Replaced the cluster. Done. Take your time looking. Most important. Make sure the screen where you read the temp. is in perfect shape. Not distorted. I paid $45 w/free shipping. Good luck.:kid: |
