I have a feeling that I might need to do the rear brakes on my 1993 300E2.8 soon.

The procedure mentioned above is for the front brakes - what do I have to watch out for and do differently on the rear brakes?

I believe the rear brakes are basically the same setup as the front brakes in the DIY posted above.

Agree - nothing exotic about the rear brakes.

FWIW, if they are like 123s and 126s, it’s exactly the same with the exception of the sensors.

I bought front pads for my 85' for $20.00. Turned out that the rear ones are bad. Hope to get to this week. Me and my dad will probably do them, because I know little about this.

I would encourage most anyone to do their own MB pad replacement. If there is an easier car to do this on I just can't imagine what it could be.

When my daughter was 16 I made her replace her own and was amazed at how well she did.

It is more work to get the wheels off and on that it is to replace the pads.

Good luck,

I agree with Larry. I did the same with my son...and the brake job gave him confidence to do or become interested in other projects.

Of course, the darn subwoofer and audio system consumes most of his time. Anyway, the 123's and 124's are pretty simple machines to work on.
