Hall effect sensor

Hi everybody,
I would like to know what kind of problems can induce a bad Hall effect sensor.
Does it have any influence on the Injection control system?
The car is 260E from 1988 euro.

Either idle OR cruise control problems!

I do not have a cruise control, could you explain a bit more the problems expected with idle?

Do you know how to check the hall effect sensor?
