I'd sure appreciate knowing a source for a good quality tool for helping to pull the metal shielded boots off of spark plugs on a MBZ - without damaging them. I'v searched both the Snap-on and MAC Tool catalog without luck. I've got one, but it just isn't up to the task when it encounters a stuck one.
Many thanks!

We've got the genuine Mercedes-Benz tool in PartsShop. This is what the dealers use...

Part# 103 589 00 37 00

If you grab the metal boot itself and twist until it turns, you should be able to pull it off, no problem. Get some silicone dielectric grease at the auto supply and use a thin coat inside the boot before reinstalling to make the job much easier next time.

Good luck,

Just my 2 cents.

The ultimate MB spark plug wire puller is not part 103 589 00 37 00.

Hazet part # 1849 is much better for removal. There are 3 variations of part Hazet 1849. One is 1849-2 and 1849-3 or something like this. You want the one that's simply 1849. One of the - something versions is a carbon copy of the MB part # mentioned above.

I've tried the "twisting-pulling by hand technique" - guess my hands are not up to the task. I agree with Larry that once they're off, a squirt of silicone dielectric grease helps next time around.

PartsShop may be able to get Hazet tools for you. They make alot of specialty tools for various auto manufacturers including MB.
