1997 C230 722.600 Transmission Problem

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I have a 1997 Mercedes C230 here in my shop. Since we rebuilt the transmission on it, now whenever we start the car up (when the engine is cold) it idles fine in park but as soon as you put it into gear, it kills the engine. It did not have this problem before we rebuilt it, and it doesn't do it when the car warms up. I would appreciate any help about this situation. The problem it had before was a surge when shifting, which was caused by a broken spring. Thanks.
