190 2.6 92 model when the weather is blow 40 it takes forever to start
i have changed the cold start valve, temp sensor, check valves, and i am about to change the fuel filter, please help

is the car cranking normally but just not starting or is it cranking slowly? I'd check your spark plugs, when were they last replaced. Also, perhaps you're battery is the problem?

How long is forever?

Have you tested fuel pressure?

What exactly have you changed and why did you decide to change it?

And have you cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve? Also check the AFM to Intake boot for cracking. When cold if it is cracked then you will have a slight air leak thus bypassing the AFM plate so not enough fuel. When the engine warms the boot will seal back up.... Also check for cracked vacuum rubber connectors and the rubber lines that connect the IACV to the rest of the intake and AFM. May just be a slight leak somewhere. Mine hard started when cold and it was a bad Water Temp Sensor, but you said you replaced that. Also when I replaced my intake boot and all the rubbers on the IACV connection my starting problems disappeared. Mine where old and stiff so they would leak when the engine was cold. When the engine heated up the rubber becomes more pliable and seals the leaks up....

Be carefull about throwing parts at it... it can get real expensive real fast...

1) The Temp sensor you changed (there are 3 I think) was it the one at the rear of the block and on top of it?

2) Do you have a multi-meter?

3) Is your anti lock brake light lit? (could be a sign of a bad OVP relay which protects the circuit that manages cold starts)

Why do you think fuel filter will help?

Can you describe in more detail exactly what symptoms you are seeing when you have hard starts... i.e. what does the economy gage read... when it starts does it run rough -till what temp... does it start fine once warmed up...

yes it runs rough for about 5 seconds then smooth out and the abs light is on. could you tell me what is a ovp relay ? and where is it located

behind the battery behind black plastic rain cover...

you have the classic symptoms of a bad Over Voltage Protection relay...

If your lucky the 10amp fuse on top is blown... otherwise replace it and you should be good...
