86 300e heater controls

My heater will only blow heat through the two side vents. Nothing to the floor or the centre vent. I checked the vacuum line from the engine to the fire wall and seems fine. Is there accessable lines inside the dash I can check?

Heat is not supposed to come from the center vents, only cool air. I noticed weak foot area heating in mine this morning. Maybe its typical for these cars, or the vac element is broken for that particular flap?

I'd check all the vacuum pods if you are questioning heating or cooling. I've always felt the footwell heating to be more than adequate.

Probably the first thing to do is get yourself a Mityvac and check the vacuum distribution block behind the glove box. This way, you can check the lines coming off the distribution block for proper application of vacuum, and then check each set of pods to make sure it holds vacuum.

Default no vacuum present at the Distribution system in the dash the heat will only come from the Defrost Vents and side vents and will be full heat. Not sure where your distribution electronic vacuum thing is in the 300, but in the 190E it is under the passenger side vent in the dash and most lines and connections can be checked by removing the lower passenger side dash panel and the glove box, along with taking out the radio and lower panel under it.
