Maybe instedad of Lysol in the HVAC intake you need to put a breath mint in there.

Glad to know that you might have found potential sources. I would find a perfect warm day to dry the boot - right to where the spare tyre is kept. Keep a close watch for leaks after dry-cleaning it. Hope all is well.

OK, its been three rainy days, the car has been cleaned and scrubbed, and I sprayed about half a can of Lysol. So far, so good -- no breath smell. Then again, the Lysol could be masking it.

I don't know whether it was here or on the Mercedes mailing list that someone suggested open bowls of vinegar. I heard that someplace else before and may try it.
