Hi, I'm new here and not an auto expert at all.
I've had a 99 c280 sport for about 15 months and I think the ride over any kind of rough road is deteriorating a bit. I've experienced a 'clicking' in the front right side , dealer heard it too , but no help. One thought is too 'soften' things up a bit as I use this car for a long city commute. I love the look and overall quality , but I'm not benefiting from harsher ride as I don't get a chance to push it over 100 too often. Any thoughts , guys? Thanks. |

I have a 98 C-280 sport, and the ride has always been firm, more so than the non-sport C-280 I have driven. I suspect a lot of the firmness is from the sport tires (contisport).Wider low-profile tires ride firm. The clicking noise could be as simple as a bad shock, but your dealer should have easly made that diagnosis. Good luck.

The sportline has shorter, stiffer springs.
