HELP for Removing driver seat '93 300CE
 

Hi y'all! I've got slight problem and I'm hoping somebody can help.
I've got a 93 300CE Cabriolet and need to remove my driver's seat. A portion of the seat bracket broke and I'll need to replace it. I tried to take it apart but have now made a mess of things. Can't drive the car until I figure this out. :mad:
I have the CD-ROM repair manuals and tried to look up the repair job (91-100) but it shows the MANUAL adjusting seat NOT the power adjusting version that I'd suspect most of us have. :confused:
Can anyone help me figure out how to remove the power adjusting mechanism or send me the PDF file with the correct procedure (PICTURES WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL).

Not sure what you mean. The "power adjusting mechanism" is on the door. The motor under the seat comes out with the seat. You just unplug all the wires, remove 4 bolts and pull the seat out, quite easy to lift out in a cab. You want to keep the power hooked up while you remove the 4 bolts - it helps to move the seat backwards and forwards to access the bolts. You may have to snap out some plastic covers along the way.

Thanks for your reply. The control module and buttons are on the door, the actual mechanism (in my mind) is under the seat.
I was hoping that I could get somebody to help me with locating the 4 bolts you talk about. I cannot find them. Which plastic covers are you talking about?
I actually removed the seat pan from the seat bracket that is indirectly bolted to the floor but I couldn't find the bolts to remove that would actually allow me to remove the entire seat assembly from the car.

I would love for somebody to send me pictures or PDF from the CD-ROM repair manuals that show or explain the plastic covers to remove and where the 4 bolts are located.

Any pics or how-to explanations would be helpful. I'm not a beginner but I'm stuck on this. THANKS!!

The 4 bolts are at the immediate front and rear of each rail. They are 10 mm bolts. Move the seat all the way to the front and you will see the ones in the rear, which do not have plastic covers. The ones in the front look just like the ones in the back although they may have plastic covers, in which case you'll have to pry them off. I don't pay much attention to saving the covers - just throw them away. With a future classic you may want to be more careful. Replacements are available from the dealer.
