1990 420SEL Alarm Troubles
 

Hi
I am having troubles with the alarm - it won't turn off and stay off. I have tried resetting the alarm with the key but no luck. At first it seems as though the alarm is reset but in a few minutes it turns on again. Under the mats, passenger side there are 2 silver panels and 1 black panel. All have a wire harness leading in. I would love to disconnect the alarm / fix it - which box houses the alarm system? Any ideas on what is causing the problem and how to fix it?

The alarm control unit is the black one, rectangular in shape. Pull the large plug from it and leave it disconnected.
