Brake pad light on?
it's flickering off and on.... not necessarily when you hit the brakes.
Pads were replaced 8 months ago. I am guessing it could be cranky pad sensors that may have to be jiggled a bit. It's just too cold to do anything about it now... added an ounce or so to brake fluid..but that should have nothing to do with the pad light. It's not the light that reads "brakes" it's the one with the "O". If anyone has any other thoughts, let me know.... the car brakes straight, hard, and true with no noises.

If the brake pads are still good, it is the sensor. Either there may be a problem with the connection at the sensor or one of the sensor wires may have been cut.

The sensor wire is a ground for the light. As the pad wears the rotor grinds off the plastic cover on the sensor and makes contact with the rotor, which is a ground. Being new pads, I would suspect a wire harness problem. If the harness has a exposed area due to age, it could be grounding out at times. I actually have this problem when the steering wheel is at the full left turn position.
If it occures with a particular wheel postion it could be the harness. Sealing the open wire could cure this. Finding the open wire would be the work. Dave

Were the sensors replaced during the work? Trying to pry the old sensors out of the pads could cause them to break and give a false reading. Try changing the sensors.

We will try wiggling, and then changing the sensors...
I thought we changed them when we did the pads...but I went through my parts purchase list and they were not on there.... Thanks for re-confirming my thoughts.... this will have to wait for a warmer day however.... It gives me an excuse to buy 50 dollars worth or so of spares.... ha-ha-ha

During one of my routine brake pad changes, I wound up with a flickering sensor light after completing the task. Turned out that I had managed to get the sensor wire caught under the hold-down clip on one side, and bare wire had made contact.
