VIN Replacement
 

Morning All,

I have recently purchased a 1993 300E from the original owner. Approximetly 6 years ago the PO was involved in a drivers side accident and had the car repaired by a shop out of state were the accident happened. The door post between the driver and rear passenger was either repaired or replaced. During the repair the decals on the door post where not repaced.
My question is, it possable to order the MB VIN decals and replace them.

It is possible, but it takes forever and M-B will want all sorts of proof that you own that car with the VIN you're ordering for. Oddly enough I don't think the labels cost all that much.

I wouldn't waste the time. Except for build date, the sticker is a useless sticker that says the car complies with Federal Safety Standards. In fact I don't believe the VIN is even on the sticker. Believe me the VIN is plastered all over that car. It should be on the bumpers, the fenders, the trunk lid, the hood, and several other secret places.
